Mild-mannered tech worker by day, fan fiction writer by night! Nah, it’s really not that exciting. I’m Jen and I’ve been writing fan fiction off and on since the late 1990s, starting with Ranma 1/2. 

I didn’t grow up with Harry Potter as so many did, but started reading right before Harry Potter And The Order of the Phoenix came out. I borrowed my roommate’s books and read them all in one weekend, then pre-ordered OOTP. I read that in a single day and when I was done, I wanted more.

More Harry, Ron and Hermione. More Ginny and Hogwarts, Remus, Sirius, Hagrid and … everyone. Well, except for Draco. And Snape. So I turned to fan fiction. I started reading on Sugar Quill and found my way to Checkmated and the oh so glorious Bedchamber. As I read these wonderful stories, I thought I’d throw my hat into the Harry Potter fan fiction ring, so I did.

Those were exciting times full of new friendships and uncertainty. Would Harry and Ginny end up together? What was “Ginny” short for? What color were Ron’s eyes? Would Harry defeat Voldemort and live happily ever after?

I wrote steadily until about 2007 when … I just stopped. The books were done and that was that. I didn’t do any writing until 2016 when I realized that I missed it and decided to start writing in the HP fandom again. I’d had the idea for an epic story that I’d made a start on called California Dreamin’ and I dusted it off and started writing again, finally finishing it in 2017.

Along the way, I’ve made many new Potter friends, mainly through The Harry And Ginny Discord which is sort of a trip back in time for this AOL old-timer. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my writing.
